Our Story
Started in a garage in 2015.
Lewis May started LAMM on 3 February 2015, working on his own out of the garage at the bottom of his driveway. The name is his initials: Lewis Aaron Matthew May.
He’d been in the trade since 2008, including seven years at his dad’s electrical and solar business, and he’d seen enough of the industry’s other side to know what he wanted to do differently. Systems sold to people who didn’t need them. Quotes written bigger than they had to be. Customers left without support once the installer had driven away. LAMM was built as the answer to that, and the rule hasn’t changed since: if something isn’t right for a customer, it doesn’t get sold to them.
Anthony Dimas, now our Operations Manager, was the first apprentice through the door. He’s still here, nine years on, and so is the approach. We’ve grown to fourteen people, added batteries, air conditioning, EV charging and hot water to the work, and taken on commercial jobs up to 100kW — but it’s still a family business in Adelaide’s south, and Lewis still picks up the phone.
Research who you’re buying from, not just what you’re buying. Historically, the solar industry has been full of companies that don’t plan on being around for the long haul. We start with your bills and how you actually use power, not with a system we’re trying to move. Sometimes the honest answer is a smaller system, or waiting until a battery makes sense for you.
Only what we'd fit at home
We never knowingly recommend a product or service we wouldn’t buy ourselves or put in front of our own family. That rules a lot of cheap gear out.
Here for the long haul
Our workmanship comes with a 10-year guarantee, and we’ve been in Adelaide’s south since 2015. When something needs looking at, you’re calling the people who installed it.
If you want to lock in your energy costs, solar and battery is your best bet.
