Sized to how you use power, not to the biggest box.

We look at your usage. Your bills, when you use power, and how much solar you’ve got spare.
Free site visit. We check your switchboard, your existing inverter and where the battery can go.
A clear quote. The right size for you, with the government discount shown as its own line.
Installed and set up. Usually in a day, by our own team, and we show you how to use the app.

The federal battery discount

Since July 2025, the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program has taken a sizeable discount off the upfront cost of a home battery. It’s for homeowners and small businesses, and the battery needs to be connected to solar (new or existing) and installed by an SAA-accredited installer, which we are.

The discount is shrinking. It steps down every six months until the program ends in 2030, and since May 2026, batteries over 14kWh get less for each extra kWh. So there’s value in deciding sooner rather than later but not in rushing into the wrong size.

We take it off your quote upfront, shown as its own line, so there’s nothing for you to claim.

Pensioners, health care card holders and some renters in SA may also qualify for a separate state incentive for joining a virtual power plant. Funding is limited, so ask us and we’ll check whether you’re eligible.

Is a battery worth it for my home?

For households that use a lot of power in the evening, often yes. For others, not yet. We’ll look at your usage and tell you honestly which group you’re in.

What size battery do I need?

It depends on how much power you use after the sun goes down, and how much solar you have to charge it. The government discount is highest per kWh on the first 14kWh of capacity, so we size your battery to your usage rather than just going as big as possible.

Can I add a battery to my existing solar?

Usually, yes. Depending on your current inverter, we either connect the battery alongside it or replace the inverter with a hybrid one that runs both. We check your existing system before quoting, so there are no surprises.

Will a battery keep my power on in a blackout?

Only if it’s set up for backup, and not every battery installation includes it by default. Backup can cover essential circuits like lights, the fridge and internet, or more of the house depending on the system. If backup matters to you, tell us early and we’ll design around it.

What's a Virtual Power Plant (VPP), and should I join one?

A VPP is a program run by an energy retailer or battery company that uses a group of home batteries to support the grid at busy times. In return you get credits or a better rate. Some are a good deal and some aren’t, depending on how much of your battery they can use. We’ll help you read the fine print.

Do you install batteries for businesses?

Yes. Small businesses can use the federal battery discount under the same rules as homes, and for larger sites we design commercial battery systems alongside solar. Ask us about your site.

I don't think they stopped working from the minute they arrived - arrived early morning & didn't leave until mid-afternoon. The place was so clean & tidy when they finished. The last gentleman to leave went through everything about how it all works .... went through the software so I can see the download-feed in of solar. The batteries I had installed meant I went through the night using no mains electricity - a win for me that's for sure.    Unbelievably polite and courteous and I had no problem leaving them to do their work - I felt quite confident about them and they were totally trustworthy.  I did go & watch 'them working' at one stage, out of curiosity' - have to admire their patience and 'dedication' to getting wires down the inner part of a wall. They did a great job, and at the end of the day when it was all done, I really appreciated that they even took the time to configure the new inverter so that it could work with our Home Assistant monitoring software. Looking forward to having the team back in a few years to increase the size of our system and maybe add a battery (when our budget allows!)
