Older switchboards, and why they matter

Plenty of homes in Adelaide’s south still have their original switchboard: ceramic fuses, no safety switches, and not enough circuits for how we live now. It’s usually the first thing we look at, because it’s the part that protects everyone in the house.

Safety switches (RCDs) cut the power in a fraction of a second if something goes wrong. Older boards often have none, or only cover part of the house.

It also comes up with solar, batteries and EV chargers. If your board needs upgrading for one of those, we’ll tell you upfront and include it in the quote, so nothing lands as a surprise on install day.

Every job we do comes with a certificate of compliance for the electrical work, and our 10-year workmanship guarantee.

Do you do general electrical work?

Yes. Our licensed electricians handle fault finding, rewiring, switchboard upgrades, lighting, power points and home automation, for homes and businesses.

Will I need a switchboard upgrade?

Sometimes. Older switchboards with ceramic fuses, or without safety switches (RCDs), may need upgrading before solar or a battery can be connected safely. We check on our visit and include it in your quote if it’s needed, so it’s never a surprise on install day.

Can you install an EV charger?

Yes. We install home and business EV chargers. With the right charger, your car can charge from spare solar during the day instead of from the grid. More about EV charging →

Do you install air conditioning?

Yes. We supply and install air conditioning across Adelaide, mostly reverse cycle split systems, and we’re happy to talk through larger or ducted systems if that’s what the house needs. Paired with solar, it’s one of the cheapest ways to heat and cool your home. More about air conditioning →

Do you install heat pump hot water?

Yes. A heat pump uses far less power than an old electric hot water system, and it can be set to run during the day on your solar.

I don't think they stopped working from the minute they arrived - arrived early morning & didn't leave until mid-afternoon. The place was so clean & tidy when they finished. The last gentleman to leave went through everything about how it all works .... went through the software so I can see the download-feed in of solar. The batteries I had installed meant I went through the night using no mains electricity - a win for me that's for sure.    Unbelievably polite and courteous and I had no problem leaving them to do their work - I felt quite confident about them and they were totally trustworthy.  I did go & watch 'them working' at one stage, out of curiosity' - have to admire their patience and 'dedication' to getting wires down the inner part of a wall.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had Liam, Ethan and Ben come out and replace our old solar panels with a new system and also installed a new EV car charger. They did a great job, and at the end of the day when it was all done, I really appreciated that they even took the time to configure the new inverter so that it could work with our Home Assistant monitoring software. Looking forward to having the team back in a few years to increase the size of our system and maybe add a battery (when our budget allows!)
