How it works

Designed around your operating hours.

We look at your usage. Your bills and, ideally, 12 months of interval data, which shows exactly when your business uses power.
Site visit. We check your roof, structure, switchboard and supply, and where the inverters will go.
A clear proposal. System design, modelled savings and payback, with any rebate shown as its own line.
Installed and approved. We plan the install around your business and handle the approvals with SA Power Networks.

What's different about commercial solar

Rebates depend on size. Systems up to 100kW earn certificates (STCs) that come straight off the upfront price, stepping down each year until 2030. Larger systems earn certificates (LGCs) over time instead, based on what they generate.

Bigger systems need more approvals. Larger commercial systems need a formal connection application and export settings agreed with SA Power Networks. We handle the application and the paperwork for you.

The savings come from using it yourself. Businesses use most of their power during the day, while the panels are producing, so more of your solar goes straight into running the business instead of being exported for a small credit. That’s why commercial solar often pays back faster than home solar.

How solar is treated for tax varies from business to business. Talk to your accountant about depreciation and deductions.

Do you work with businesses?

Yes. We design and install commercial solar for factories, warehouses, workshops and wineries, and handle ongoing electrical work such as test and tag.

How big a system can you install?

From small workshops through to large commercial systems, like the 100kW system we installed for Solitaire Automotive in Prospect. See our Projects page for examples.

Can businesses get the battery discount?

Yes. Small businesses can use the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program, under the same rules as homes. Ask us whether your site qualifies.

Is solar worth it for a business?

Often more than for a home. Businesses use most of their power during the day, when solar is producing, so more of it goes straight into running the business instead of being exported. We’ll model it from your bills and show you the payback.

Can you look after our electrical work too?

Yes. Our licensed electricians handle general electrical work for businesses, from fault finding and switchboard upgrades to lighting and test and tag, so you’ve got one local team for all of it.

I don't think they stopped working from the minute they arrived - arrived early morning & didn't leave until mid-afternoon. The place was so clean & tidy when they finished. The last gentleman to leave went through everything about how it all works .... went through the software so I can see the download-feed in of solar. The batteries I had installed meant I went through the night using no mains electricity - a win for me that's for sure.    Unbelievably polite and courteous and I had no problem leaving them to do their work - I felt quite confident about them and they were totally trustworthy.  I did go & watch 'them working' at one stage, out of curiosity' - have to admire their patience and 'dedication' to getting wires down the inner part of a wall. They did a great job, and at the end of the day when it was all done, I really appreciated that they even took the time to configure the new inverter so that it could work with our Home Assistant monitoring software. Looking forward to having the team back in a few years to increase the size of our system and maybe add a battery (when our budget allows!)
